The concept of Smart Data has been introduced in ~2014 as the next research frontier to extrate value from large and complex databases. Nevertheless, the computational applications of the concept have been limited to data processing&nbsp;tasks. In this talk, I will present the current understanding of the literature on Smart Data, position it onto the broader Data Management Life Cycle, and propose an application to turn data acquisition tasks smart as well.
