Technology that makes sense of things, and ensuring the data is put to good use…simple to say, less simple to do. 

IoT data is all around us : The IoT produces abundant data about the physical world—but it’s messy & complicated.

How make IoT data usable? Developing and providing an open source IoT middleware that makes the data from just about anything usable.

How to put data in good use? This is what we will see in the seminar

Biographies :

Jeffrey Dungen ( B.A.Sc., M.A.Sc.) is the co-founder and CEO of reelyActive. As a computer engineer, Jeffrey focuses on developing and sharing foundational technologies that are open source and accessible to all, with his contributions easily trackable on GitHub. He is deeply invested in an economy that values and rewards such contributions for the betterment of all participants. Jeffrey is at the forefront of realizing his vision by creating context-aware physical spaces that use computers to interpret and facilitate the exchange of valuable information, with the natural human environment as the primary interface.

Benoît Pomerleau (B. Eng, MBA) is partner and COO of reelyActive. With over 30 years of experience in manufacturing and operations management, Benoit is also a lecturer at l’UQAM where he teaches operations management and IoT. His career has been characterized by a focus on enhancing operational processes and driving organizational success through effective leadership. 

Ygal Bendavid (M. Ing., PhD.) is professor in operations management in the Department of Analytics, operations & IT (AOTI) at the school of management (ESG)  Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). He is the director of the IoT Lab. As a specialist in IoT, Ygal has been in the sector for over 20 years. He has contributed to put in place various RFID/IoT Living lab. Ygal is one of the «leaders» of the SDG Innovation Network that brings together eight Quebec universities addressing industry digital transformation.
